Did you miss last week's rather excellent episode of FlashForward,
"The Garden of Forking Paths?" If so, read a recap here. This
week's episode begins with Janis, speaking in a voiceover over a scene
of FBI agents running the six-mile obstacle course "Yellow Brick Road,"
describing how she joined the FBI. She never intended to join the FBI;
she was a lawyer who hated her life. She wanted to do something
patriotic. A friend, Demetri, got her to apply to eh Bureau, and she
loved every second of it. She was not doing something that mattered.
It is revealed that Janis is speaking two years before the blackout, to a
woman named Leda, a headhunter. Janis tells her that she's not looking
to quit the FBI, which she just joined. Leda tells her that she has an
opportunity for Janis, and doesn't want her to quit. Rather, Leda's
offer would be more like multitasking.

Dominic Monaghan
has played his share of "troubled" roles.
On 'Lost,' he broke viewers' hearts
as heroin-addicted musician Charlie Pace, sacrificing himself in the
show's third season finale. Now, he's on yet another ABC sci-fi series 'FlashForward' as
misunderstood physicist Simon Campos, who may be partially responsible
for a global disaster. Monaghan talked to TV Squad yesterday
about 'Lost's' series finale, the physics of 'FlashForward' and his
other artistic pursuits. The actor also recently starred in a short film
that was written, produced and crewed entirely by teenagers for the
"Fresh Films" project, which you can watch and vote for on their web
site until May 3.

After last week's nod to Borges, tonight we're getting Baum on
FlashForward. This episode references the yellow brick road of Oz, but
it looks as though our characters have already trodden through it. On
"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," Janis (Christine Woods) continues to fool
the FBI into thinking she's on their side. The mole is still in the
building, using Mark Benford's (Joseph Fiennes) trust against him. We're
expecting disastrous consequences here, even though we're really hoping
they reveal the identity of her employer soon.

While Demetri's (John Cho) life may have been spared thanks to the
quick actions of his partner last week, there's a lot more going on in
FlashForward. Demetri's possible demise was just a piece of it. After
receiving help from Wedeck (Courtney B. Vance), Aaron (Brian F. O'Byrne)
presses on with his mission to find his daughter. However, getting to
her proves to be more difficult and risky than he anticipated. Also,
Olivia (Sonya Walger) receives disturbing news by Gabriel (James
Callis), who has been subjected to numerous flashforwards.
