The fourth episode of FlashForward, "Black Swan," introduces us to Olivia's latest and strangest patient of the day, Ned. On the day of the blackout, Ned was in a bus that careened into a lake but still managed to bring himself and another passenger to safety. Considering how close he came to drowning, Ned seems a little too upbeat in the hospital when he goes in to check up on his injuries. So why's he so darn perky? Because in his flash, he was wearing leather pants and mingling in a happening club. And he had inexplicably gone from Caucasian to African-American. Ok then!

 Very cool opening on “FlashForward”
this week: a flashback to the blackout, which is now 14 days in the
past. We’re looking out over Echo Park (or maybe a Canadian stand-in),
with Bjork’s “It’s Oh So Quiet” on the soundtrack, when people start
dropping. In the distance we can see cars crashing and plumes of smoke
on the skyline; in the foreground a city bus rumbles across the park
and into a lake.

If you thought Lost was a tricky show filled with twists and turns, FlashForward has a few mind games of its own to play. TVGuide.com sat down with a star from both ABC shows. One of the many issues FlashForward raises is whether or not you can change the future. Sonya Walger 's character, Olivia, finds herself struggling to make sure the glimpse she saw in her flash doesn't come true, because ...

You know, network TV is a copy cat league to be certain. There are
three Law & Order shows on TV, countless Hospital shows, and more
NCIS’ than you can shake LL Cool J at. Not to mention that for every
Desperate Housewives there is a Cougar Town and so on and so forth. In
all this parity where can we go to find some individuality on network
TV? We’ve told you about Heroes, and you already know about Lost, but
is there anything out there for the newcomer to the potential nirvana
that is TV?

The producers of ABC's
sci-fi drama "FlashForward" will at least have a season to tell the
story behind that mysterious two-minute-and-17-second blackout at the
heart of the show.

Now that everyone has had time to catch up on the latest episode of ABC's FlashForward
and debate what they saw, we figure it's time to take a closer look at
the ending in Somalia where ... something .... appeared in the sky.
The scene takes place in an area where a whole bunch of people
suffered a blackout similar to the flash-forward, but this one happened
back in 1991. A small shepherd boy watches a bunch of flying crows
suddenly die and plummet to the ground, crests a hill, and sees bodies
all over the ground, followed by something with the appearance of a
cloud that looks sort of maybe like a ship.

Spoilers for last night's "FlashForward" coming up just as soon as I spill out some bong water... "137
Sekunden" was an improvement over last week's episode and the second
half of the pilot, but I still worry that there are some fundamental
problems that "FlashForward" simply can't overcome.

First up, I've talked to someone just minutes ago who has seen
FlashForward's third episode, 137 Sekunden (Sekunden is German for
seconds, 137 being the total number of seconds the FlashForward lasts
for). By the time he got to the end of his recap, I was fricken
excited. Seems like 137 Sekunden is an action packed entry to the
FlashForward story that finally gets down and dirty with some weirdo
mythology and unexpected twist type things.
